However, maybe it's time again to discuss about the "channels"-feature? Otherwise there will still be no way to make a new major of e.g. MDB then be MDB2 - and be able to coexist with MDB. I know this has been done before - but imho we postponed a decision at that time. Maybe do it even before the first official PHP5-release so that we can say the new PEAR-installer now supports things like channels and as well other repositories? As I see it, correct me if I'm wrong, Greg already has several patches waiting to be introduced ...
