Hi,
I was wondering if anyone was interested in a class I have put together, its
basically returns a files size, in several different formats and can also
return it as an object. Its more or less a collection of code that I've
found around the place and also put together myself.
So my question is, would anyone be interested in this package? My thinking
would be that it would reside in the File package and I was thinking of the
name File/Size.php
It also allows returning the size of directories recursively.
If you want to view the class it can be seen here
http://amcms.org/src/pear/file/size.phps
Pretty simple really, an example would be:
include("File/Size.php");
echo File_Size::get("./file.gif");
would return the human readable file size for file.gif
echo File_Size::get("./file.gif", FILE_SIZE_UNIT_KB);
would return the file size in kb's
If there is interest then I will fix up the documentation, and I also think
there could be a little bit of work done to some of the internals. If you
have any suggestions please let me know. (also not really sure about what
license I need to put up the top???)
I would prefer not to be package maintainer if all goes ahead, as I am
heading overseas soon (2 weeks) and would not be able to take on this role.
If anyone would like to take on the role of package maintainer this would be
greatly appreciated.
cheers
alex
