i've been thinking about this also, but the difficulty is with complex
queries, like sub-select and unions etc. as a simple example (dont have the
braincells for a more complex one)
select t.a, t.b, t.c from
table_1 t
where (t.a in (select d from table2 where x = y))
order by t.c
