When is it safe to change a package's state? My package Gtk_ScrollingLabel has been in dev and alpha state for over a month with no bugs reported. I realize that a month isn't very long and 133 downloads isn't very many but I think that people may be more likely to download and try my package (therefore reporting bugs and making the package better) if it were atleast in beta state. But if I have nothing to change I can't just change the state and release the package, right?
I don't have any problems with that. After all, the change from an RC to stable should hopefully only have minor changes (if any at all). If you are ready to go beta, go for it :-) After all, 133 downloads can't be compared to other packages, as the number of people using GTK is much smaller than those using php on the server or even as a cli scripting language.
