When is it safe to change a package's state? My package Gtk_ScrollingLabel has been in dev and alpha state for over a month with no bugs reported. I realize that a month isn't very long and 133 downloads isn't very many but I think that people may be more likely to download and try my package (therefore reporting bugs and making the package better) if it were atleast in beta state. But if I have nothing to change I can't just change the state and release the package, right? Thanks, Scott MattocksHi Scott, Feel free to upgrade the state. Remember, a beta release must have at least detailed API documentation at pear.php.net, otherwise the user can't determine what API there is to rely upon. Also, if possible regression tests for API prior to stable release would help a lot, although for your package this might be a bit tricky :) Greg
