Having done this not too long ago, I don't recommend it. The only times it
should be used, imo, are if you must deal with a large amount of data, or
have to do significant amounts of processing to determine which items get
filled into the next input.
So far as I know, this only works with IE and Mozilla[1]. Safari recently got
support for Mozilla's XmlHttpRequest object, but it seems that it's XML
parsing is buggy.
[1]: Disclaimer: I used Javascript o lait (jsolait - http://jsolait.net/) for
the XML-RPC client. You may be able to work around browser issues with more
effort.
