Perhaps I didn't explain myself enough... the way that I thought of it
was a totally separate module, derived from PEAR::DB. It would contain a
subset of the functions that PEAR::DB has, the ones that are necessary
to do DB work -- connecting, querying, getting error messages, quoting
strings, maybe a bit more -- but basically a "Lite" version of PEAR::DB,
with a fixed set of functions. And we wouldn't add more, unless there
was something really important... it would be for faster include()-ing.
The whole idea of this is faster include()-ing, not necessarily picking
and choosing which functions you want... because really, if you're
including the code, you might as well put the functions in the class
because the code's already there.
