Laurent Laville (http://pear.php.net/user/farell) has commented on the proposal for
PEAR::PEAR_ErrorLayer.
Comment:
Hi Lukas,
ErrorLayer has not the goal of ErrorStack, even if my generic handler is a
pseudo clone of ErrorStack features.
Main goals of ErrorLayer are :
- allows easily changes of error handler routines in an easy way: use
pear_error, than pear_errorstack, or anything else without recoding all
your package
- allows to write your packages (old and new) using a standard of error
management.
- reuses PEAR::raiseError() calls without re-coding all these parts in an
existing package
- even package like html_progress who has a raiseError signature
(parameters list) different than PEAR_Error, may use it.
I hope the situation is a bit more clear for you.
PS: sorry for my bad explains in english. After all i'm french ;-)
