I need to first let the user create a new HTML_QuickForm instance, so where can I put the magic in the QF_SelectFilter code???

OK, I forgot this was stored in a $GLOBAL...
Anyway, will I have to make it available as a new package?
What are the arguments against its adoption into QF?
