No, you are right, they are not PHP streams. But pOOcl is basically an
object oriented stream implementation (readers are input streams, writer are
output streams).
Streams is maybe not specific enough... but pOOcl is a set of base class
that could be derived in "anything" (there are some archive readers and
writers, but there is also a mail writer...)
