To me PHP_Compat package is really about bridging the gaps between the various PHP version. Be it a drop-in file, wonderful. But if this drop-in is not possible something else has to be put in place... If people feel it doesn't belong in PHP_Compat a new package could be created... -PhilippeThe point of PHP_Compat is to be a drop in thing. Only with such an extension will this work for signature changes.e) wait for Sara Golems extension which will allow you to rewrite any defined function.IMO, I don't see that as an improvement. Sure it may be convenient, but it looks like it would be a major headache to debug applications that would be using such a feature. Also, unless the extension is included in all PHP versions, this would create major compatibility issues. When it comes to overloading, I think it'd be better stick to OO programming.
