PHP is fixed, now my code is broken... Very kafkaesque.

At least you only had notices. I got a fatal error for "unconsciously" playing
with return values :
<http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=33516>
<http://golgote.freeflux.net/blog/archive/2005/06/30/getting-the-last-value-from
-an-array.html>
Obviously, it's easier to change the documentation to accomodate the code than
the opposite. A little game, find the differences :
- Today : <http://us2.php.net/end>
- Last year : <http://web.archive.org/web/20040126084956/http://us2.php.net/end>
What are the motivations behind such changes ?
- Make users angry ?
- Break old habits ?
- Force developers to rewrite their code to PHP 5.1 and sell them a nice PHP 5.1
IDE and performance suite at the same time ?
- Eat more memory ?
- Make php code more readable ?
Frankly, I have no idea about the motivation behind these changes. If anyone
knows better, please share.
