Philippe Jausions (http://pear.php.net/user/jausions) has commented on the proposal for Tools and
Utilities::VarManager.
Comment:
Ok, here how I understand the aim of package, correct me if I'm wrong.
Let's assume we want to "track" the first name of a user.
1. Register the "FirstName" as a "trackable" variable.
2. Look if the variable is in (order of lookup should be configurable by
the package user):
a. cookie,
b. session,
c. POST data,
d. GET data.
3. Add the registered variables (in this case only "FirstName") to the
URLs. This would help in bookmarking the page.
4. Eventually know if a variable has been set, and get its value.
The Form/input thing should be dropped. We already have HTML_QuickForm to
do things like that.
