I didnt imply "maintainers don't respond to suggestions." with quickform, I was generalising and thats wrong of me sorry, but Alexey you are a very personal person and thats just out of order. Below is a simple text counter I use for SMS message sending.
I think I can see why you don't get responses from package maintainers. Please use the bug tracker to attach patches. Sending lines of code on the mailing list like this only makes the job a lot harder for the maintainer. And if you don't know how to use diff, please learn, it's not that hard. I'll be glad to offer my assistance, and so will several others, if you need it. - Anant
