Hi, Ian Warner wrote:
My company has currently hacked nearly every Package we use, we have multiple extensions for quickforms, templates, paging DO etc. I would submit more patches but they just dont seem to get a response, so why waste my time really.
Judging by the n00b questions you asked recently in pear-general, you don't really have any extensions and so are just trolling here.
What noob question - you mean the one regarding your Sigma (which i like very much thanks) this was mostly due to poor documentation, I explained this to you in my reply. No need to insult me here Alexey that was a cheap shot.
So I was right and you don't have these "extensions"? And please note that you were the first to do "cheap shots" by explicitly naming the package I maintain (QuickForm) and implying that its maintainers don't respond to suggestions.
I didnt imply "maintainers don't respond to suggestions." with quickform, I was generalising and thats wrong of me sorry, but Alexey you are a very personal person and thats just out of order.
OK, let's finish this "discussion" then. Please excuse me for "trolling" and "n00b" remarks as well.
Below is a simple text counter I use for SMS message sending.
Now we are talking business. So let me give a short overview of what's required if you want to contribute your code to QuickForm. First of all, the development of QuickForm itself is stopped, we are currently working on QuickForm2 (at least when we have time for this). So no feature additions to the base package are going to be accepted. There are 2 ways around this 1) You may propose a subpackage. Per PEAR rules, package maintainers may accept a subpackage without discussion, but we traditionally required all QuickForm subpackages go through standard PEPr proposal stage. 2) If an addition is minor, it can be added as usage example to the package. On to your code: before it can be proposed either as a subpackage or as usage example, it should be self-contained, with all the needed javascript and without 'global $tr'. Also there is little sense to propose PHP5-subpackage to PHP4 package, unless you make heavy use of PHP5-only features.
