So whats your suggestion for PEAR, the only difference I see at all is build server for compiling on multiple distros (which might apply to pecl but doesn't apply to pear) -joshI'd think the suggestion is: Automatically running unit tests, could get fancy like a Continuous Integration system (that I would love to be able to run with code I'm developing), or something a little simpler like running every X hours/every time code is checked into the PEAR CVS repository - and it just emails to the QA mailing list. I wake up today, get back to that task, and I hit up CPAN. http://search.cpan.org/dist/Email-MIME/ Oooh, I see CPAN Testers: FAIL (2) -- Maybe automated testing has caught the same failure I did. View. http://cpantesters.perl.org/show/Email-MIME.html#Email-MIME-1.855 Hmm, indeed, 1.854 failed on a ton of hosts. It's not just me. Let's check the Bug Reports. View/Reports Bugs (2) http://rt.cpan.org/Public/Dist/Display.html?Name=Email-MIME Indeed, someone else had the same problem. Looks like it has been fixed though. Updated the index for CPAN, yup, new version is out. installed, and now everything works again. It made me really happy that I could find all of this information quickly and easily, didn't have to go look through email list archives or join a listserve in order to find out WTF. I daydream about PEAR being that nice.
