Last night I'm installing a bunch of CPAN modules for a perl app, and one
just completely croaks. I get frustrated, so I go to bed and go to sleep.
I wake up today, get back to that task, and I hit up CPAN.

Hmm, indeed, 1.854 failed on a ton of hosts. It's not just me. Let's

Indeed, someone else had the same problem. Looks like it has been fixed
though. Updated the index for CPAN, yup, new version is out. installed,
and now everything works again.
It made me really happy that I could find all of this information quickly
and easily, didn't have to go look through email list archives or join a
listserve in order to find out WTF. I daydream about PEAR being that nice.
