Re: hosting packages on external VCS sites

Folks: I feel all source code should be in cvs.php.net. For documentation, well, given the general track record, getting it all on pear.php.net is harder to pull off. A dedicated domain name is a guarantee either. Developers can give up on the package and let the domain name and/or hosting account lapse. Perhaps, now that there are channels, we can say "If you want to put your docs some place else, your package can be some place else too."
