For better or worse.... I'd like to throw my name in the hat as well. I've been a long-time consumer of PEAR packages, and have convinced myself to stick around. My primary involvement in PEAR has actually been within my own pear channels, but I do have a package, Services_W3C_HTMLValidator, on pear.php.net. I've maintained my own channel where I work since August '05 (http://pear.unl.edu/) which I use to distribute re-usable packages for our university including our calendar (http://events.unl.edu/), as well as a personal channel (http://pear.saltybeagle.com/). I've also worked with Greg on Chiara_PEAR_Server at http://pear.chiaraquartet.net/ and a few other things. My user is saltybeagle, but on #pear people may recognize me as bbieber. http://pear.php.net/user/saltybeagle Thanks, On 3/21/07, Gregory Beaver <greg@chiaraquartet.net> wrote:
As referenced in the constitution[1], the PEAR Group elections will now occur. Because of the timing, PEAR Group members will serve a 1 year term from May 1, 2007 to May 1, 2008. If you are a PEAR developer, and have a user account at pear.php.net with pear.dev karma, you are eligible to run for a seat on the 7-member PEAR Group. What are the benefits? You will help to decide the future direction of the PEAR repository as a whole You will define coding standards You will define how collectives are created, and see PEAR forward You will be able to grant CVS karma requests You will decide how new packages are accepted into collectives, and old packages deprecated Disadvantages? You will be responsible for your decisions If you would like to run for a seat, please send a message to pear-dev@lists.php.net in reply to this message with your name and user account at pear.php.net (for instance, I am Greg Beaver, my user account is http://pear.php.net/user/cellog) The election will commence in 1 month, on April 20, and will conclude on the beginning of May 1 at midnight, pear.php.net time Information on the election is available at http://pear.php.net/election/info.php?election=7&vote=1 Thanks, Greg [1] http://pear.php.net/manual/en/constitution.text.php -- PEAR Development Mailing List (http://pear.php.net/) To unsubscribe, visit: http://www.php.net/unsub.php
