XML-RPC exists for a while, you should now give a look at SOAP and
WSDL, which are part of the global XML Protocol:

It would be nice if phpdoc comments in classes could be parsed
automagically in order to produce WSDL contracts. Then, we would only
have to write documented classes, and they would be available as web
services through a proxy or router ... ;)
