Quite a lot different than making your code magically E_STRICT. Also, we are talking about new libraries anyways .. a new major version etc. We are not talking about breaking old code. You simply install, define your __autoload or require allfiles or whatever and you are ready to use the nice happy new packages. regards, Lukas(...) I simply fail to see the disadvantages from this proposal, aside from that it requires a change in policy. Giving the fact that _all_ our current users stand to gain and that we also provide solutions for people we currently left in the dust, I am having a hard time to see the migration effort as a big issue .. especially since this is for a new major version of PEAR.Migration is always tricky - just look at the PHP4-to-PHP5 disaster. This should not be neglected. It all comes down to an education issue.
