PEAR or pear, all the same really but our logo doesn't even reflect either :) 5) On top of the reason I listed before, I'm actually wondering what > your reasons are for renaming PEAR? You don't mention a single on in > your mail. Actually I did, you just didn't read the whole email it seems. PEAR = PHP Extension and Application Repository, do you see us having either of those in PEAR ? I suppose you could call packages extensions but in PHP extensions have always been well extensions to extend PHP as a language and the Application part is a bit bogus also since we don't even allow applications, don't know if we will in the future but currently we don't. To me it's like calling a computer company CA, short for Car Aparts Inc. just because it began that way instead of keeping CA and renaming it to Computer Applications or something along those lines Plus I think you're perhaps going a bit overboard saying we can't change PEAR to pear or Pear or pEaR just because people are used to seeing one one those, for that matter I think I've seen people write just about all the variants of that but they still always know it's PEAR because the word still spell PEAR, right ? :) Anyway I'm not saying it should happen just because this thread started but it's my opinion on this matter and I felt like it should be discussed here instead of just having this thing linger in my head any longer, the worst that could happen is that someone agrees with me, if not then so be it, at least we then know how everyone feels about it :-D - Helgi
