Now I realize that the problem came from PHP 5 itself and realpath() function. I have not yet tested it under *Nix, but only on Windows platform (CLI or Apache module) Realpath of a directory gave me a trailing "\" with PHP 5.2.4 and even now with PHP 5.2.5, but not with PHP 4.4.7
Just to inform you: Since the current snaps of PHP5.2/5.3/6.0 (Windows), this have been changed back to the normal behaviour: Resulting paths have no trailing slash. BTW curious: This changed behaviour was only in realpath(), but not in DirectoryIterator::getRealPath(). Regards, Carsten
Hi Carsten, Thanks to take me aware of this situation. Probably a link for everyone to clarify bug (special thanks to author) http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=43248
I had this problem about 2 weeks ago or so when I was trying to package pearweb and I found the patch Lorenzo made and informed Tim he'd need to make a release asap and yet I still haven't gotten a response from him, does anyone know if he's just too busy or what ? Might be advisable that Greg does this release just so that windows users with 5.2.4 can actually package things without having to do some patching or I can take it upon my self to do it as a QA member. Regards Helgi
Sorry to Helgi and Carsten if you received twice this mail Re-post original version I sent from my office with a webmail (poor webmail ;-) So on original post I written : ------------- I proposed to be active lead again to do a release to solve this problem, and I got only one answer from Greg Beaver (on this list). I've tried to contact Tim wia pear web mail (but not yet received a response). I don't know if I must still wait agreement of Tim (actual and only active leader). I don't see any answer about such situation in PEAR doc (manual). Perharps QA team or PEAR group can reply to this question. How long can we wait to become an active leader ? - 1. zero day (agreement of current leaders not requires), - 2. with for a response of active leaders - 3. others ... Regards Laurent
