Another issue was that they had a "rule" that the filename needed to have in a certain extension otherwise it would return an error. [...] The only reason I wanted a CAB reader was to open *.xsn files ;) Yes, relying on the file extension is problematic.FWIW the same problem exists for ZIP files that are used in various other file formats, including JAR, XPI, Open Document Format files (OpenOffice.org etc.) and Office Open XML files (MS Office 2007).
