regards alanCome on guys, you can do better than that:Even when you have root access IMO the place should be /usr/local/bin/pear.php-config --prefix/bin.^^^-> can't?debian packages php-config in php4-dev (the development package, not sure about redhat etc.) so it may not be available/installed on all systems.
Oh, php-config, why the hell I didn't notice that command before? Oh oh, it's even under php4/pear/scripts/! :-) Well perhaps I should use this php-config instead of the ugly thing I'm doing now in go-pear: prefix=$(type -p php | perl -pe 's/\/bin\/php//; s/\//\\\//g') Also if there is no 'php-config' command it would mean that the users did compile his php with --without-pear. Umm, well, I guess that even with --without-pear the PEAR installer could work if the user use "pear -d php_dir=foo -s" no? Tomas V.V.Cox
