status of Mail_mime?

Hi, Mail_mime is currently near the top of both the package download statistics table [1] with 660k+ downloads and bug statistics table [2] with 16 open bugs. Of these the most critical IMO is bug #11238 [3] that makes the package nearly unusable in non-ASCII scenarios (I have to use a custom pre-patched version of Mail_mime myself). The bugfix release 1.5.3 [4] was scheduled for 2008-03-23 but wasn't done, last CVS activity is on 2008-03-22 [5]. Is the package still maintained? If it isn't, maybe a QA release is in order? Fortunately the package has tests, and most of the bugs have patches attached...
