I was also thinking to extend Numbers_Words with such a functionality some time ago but never had the time to push some efforts in this direction yet. I agree with Matthew that the best option would be to fit it into the existing package. It would be both easier to maintain and friendlier for users (same API, language files structure, etc.). I've created a Google Code repository for this project as well, but I will attempt to contact the developer of Numbers_Words and see if he would like to merge the two projects. Thanks, --KevinHello, Recently, I found the Numbers_Words package which converts numbers to words, such as (153 => one hundred and fifty-three), and was inspired to write a package that did the opposite. I would like to release it as a PEAR package, but I don't have any experience in doing so and what the requirements are. Could someone point me in the right direction? My current code can be downloaded from http://kevmo314.com/words_numbers.zip and I would gladly take any suggestions or cases that my code doesn't handle correctly.Hi Kevin, I'd like to make a few suggestions: * Please have a look over the PEAR coding standards and make sure your code conforms. * PHP5 should be used * Numbers_Words is designed to allow multiple languages--this would be a good feature for your package as well. * You'll want to write some unit tests. See for example the tests for Numbers_Words * I think it may be better to get in contact with the Numbers_Words developers and see if you could integrate this functionality into the existing package instead of creating an entirely new package for it.
