I am interested in helping bring HTML5 support to HTML_Quickform2 how might I go about this?
Its a bit difficult to answer your question without knowing 1) How familiar are you with existing QF2 code? 2) Do you have experience with unit tests? Basically you should read HTML5 specification, wiki page linked below and start implementing. I suggest first going with elements / attributes that have wider browser support and / or can be easily emulated. In other words, we should leave date-based stuff and color picker alone for now. Once you have an implementation ready, you can publish it somewhere on the web for review or attach a patch to a tracker issue. If you have more specific questions then don't hesitate to ask.
I first would like to see other HTML5 types support.
Can you please elaborate?
I noticed a bug / ticket open for this in the tracker. Please let me know. Thanks. Alexey Borzov wrote:
Hi, There is a couple of feature requests [1], [2] open in PEAR tracker which deal with supporting new form-related features of HTML5. Bertrand and myself had an off-list discussion on adding HTML5 support, I've added its summary to the QF2 wiki [3]. If you are interested in above-mentioned support, we'd really like to hear some additional comments. Or better yet, see some contributions. ; [1] http://pear.php.net/bugs/bug.php?id=5308 [2] http://pear.php.net/bugs/bug.php?id=17842 [3] http://quickform.mamasam.com/wiki/doku.php?id=html5 -- PEAR Development Mailing List (http://pear.php.net/) To unsubscribe, visit: http://www.php.net/unsub.php
