You can see the faq on SOAPx4 in regards to development there.

Essentialy as I understand it, there are two versions of SOAPx4 now, PEAR::SOAP and NuSphere NuSOAP. The choice is yours ;)

Ok, I see. And how is active development handled? Is the not-pearified version not maintained/developed anymore? Or is it, and all futher changes make it into the PEARified versionk?- MarkusOn Sun, Apr 14, 2002 at 10:55:33AM -0700, Shane Caraveo wrote :Markus Fischer wrote:Sorry if that's a 'no no' question, but besides being pearified, what's the different between the PEAR SOAP class and the one available from ganx4.com ?There are no 'no no' questions to me. I haven't tried to differentiate anything between the two. It's a matter of personal preference. I wanted a PEAR soap class, and I felt SOAPx4 was the only good library out there, but it still had numerous problems at the time. Another reason I did it was that Dietrich started consulting for NuSphere developing a SOAP library based on SOAPx4. At the time, it was uncertain what license the resulting work would be under (it has since been put under LGPL, and interop is excelent). Rather than writing from scratch I started pearifying SOAPx4 (with Dietrich's blessings). My hope was (and still is) that having a non-GPL version available in a CVS repository with PEAR would get more people involved in using and working on it.
