The 'why' using php-gtk is quiet obvious, it's PHP code after all which for some reason we happen to know quite good. Also, if PHP-GTK works on MacOSX we only need to maintain a single code base for the GUI part (less errors).
I agree with that.IMO the best thing for macosx users would be a GUI developed in Cocoa (objective-c), you would just have to drag-drop it on your disk and it would install. But I reckon it would be better if all the interfaces could look the same.This part is quite questionable. 'the best thing' for win32 could be also to use it's native interface technology. 'the best thing' for unix could be argued to use KDE or Motiv ...But if you want to work on your favourite GUI in the language you know best, no one will stop you :-)For sure.
