People can integrate the feed into their Radio Userland Aggregator or
whatever fany aggregator they use. I for example use a home-brewed
browser based aggregation thingie, where I read weblogs and at the same
time all different sorts of news. I definitevely would syndicate the
PEAR feed also.
Having RSS feeds will definitively make PEAR more popular with a
little amount of work for us.

That's you personal point of view. On the other hand there are
zillions of people out there that use their aggregator to keep up with
all sort of things that important for them (weblogs, headlines of
newspapers, technical stuff like PEAR). For them a PEAR feed would be
a great thing, because they simply need to fire up Radio Userland and
do not need to mess around with RPC or visit pear.php.net.
