by default, pear is installed under
/usr/local/lib/php for the script
/usr/local/lib/bin/pear for the package manager
If you got the pear packages managers bundled with php (all versions, included 4.3.0), you have to
upgrade your pear base installation using go-pear, I write the usage of go-pear in the footer.
After a sucessfull upgrade, you can install the needed package pear install packagename

Not you can install ALL pear packages manually, and upgrade them manually too. In both method
(manually or with pear manager), your include path must include the folder where the pear packages
are installed (as well CPAN need the folder for the cpan module).
