One thing I don't understand with MDB2 is the system of type. I hava limited type (no varchar or such thing like it for example) . So how are table optimized ? Second point: could we use database already created without using XML import/export. Excuse my question questions but the doc isn't very precies ;)I will reply to the list. Hope that is ok with you. First of all you dont need to use the type system. Its essentially optional. If you prefer to hand tweak your schema's that alright. Also MDB2's text datatype works with any text column (varchar, char) so thats also not a problem. Also you dont need to use the XML schema stuff. It may be useful for alot of things, but its totaly optional. Actually most of the more advanced abstraction features of MDB[2] are optional. So you could use it like DB more or less .. it might be a little faster that way too :-) regards, Lukas
