REST simply tells you that each resource has a unique URL. It is up to you to define how resources work. Think of it as an HTTP-accessible database and you may have more luck understanding things. The only advantage of REST over SOAP is that it uses native HTTP to define content type and to handle security/authentication (and in my opinion, this is a rather substantial advantage). If you want methods, you are better off with XML-RPC or SOAP. I would recommend googling REST and reading absolutely everything you possibly can, there are many great pages out there written on how to design a good REST webservice. Greg
