Andreas Adelsberger wrote:I found a solution now. there was a problem with the pear.bat of the xampp installation. i removed the pear.bat and the pear directory completely. downloaded http://go-pear.org/ and saved it as go-pear.php . then run: php go-pear.php in the command line and reinstalled everything! now everything works fine. thanx for the help! Please PLEASE report this to xampp. They do the single crappiest job of bundling PEAR in the history of the universe. The only way this could be possible is if they intentionally change the installation process that has been carefully worked out and then break it. In short, it may look flashy, but I wouldn't touch xampp with a 10 foot pole. Greg ok, i submited the bug to their official forum. i use xampp just on my local machine as testing developement environment. my main intention was the ability of switching the php version easily. therefore it works really fine.
