Well,
LiveUser works on a plugin approach, so you can add your own backends for
permission and authentication. You can use several backends for auth and
perm.
Markus has a medium permission management driver almost ready AFAIK. There
is also the need of writing a simple permission management backend (which
looks more suited to your needs), but i don't think any work has been done
on it so far.
The great thing would be that you write (or help to write :)) such a backend
so it could be introduced into the package.
I plan on using it, sometimes in the end of november, at that time i should
be able to devote some time to it.
Markus, Lukas, any thoughts ?
Arnaud.
