Hi Arnaud,
(btw. sorry for not getting back to you earlier... very busy ATM)
You´re right, there hasn´t been any work on a super-simple permission
container yet, while a medium-complex version actually has been around
for about 1.5 years (long before LiveUser was even planned to become a
PEAR package one day :-)).
However, the container is based on a stone-old version of the code and
it would be better to rewrite it from scratch, as it wouldn´t work with
the current LiveUser version anyway. Also, it works on an outdated
version of the database model (see the diagram on the LiveUser site).
Also, we´ve had some discussion whether it´s a good idea to let an
alternative rights container that is being distributed as a standard
container with the package have a different database model than the next
complex variant. Letting both containers have the same database model,
but letting the medium one operate with simpler (and also much faster)
queries and less method parameters would allow newbies an easier start,
and also offer an easy migration path once more complexity is needed.
The model that Lukas has introduced is a lot more complex and allows
tons of cool features like implied rights, right levels, special admin
users and user/admin levels and so on, but it´s therefore also harder to
understand, so that newbies to LiveUser face a very high learning curve,
which I think is the main reason why the package hasn´t found a broad
audience yet (okay the fact that it´s quite new might also have to do
with that :-))

Cool, that´s exactly the time when I´ll be able to put some more work at
it again :-)
Regards,
Markus
