Does this mean that MDB aims to support extensions that are specific to
DB2? If so, I would be interested in testing and contributing to this
project.

Sure, I am currently writing php applications which use php's builtin
ibm-db2 support through odbc. However there are some DB2-specific
extensions which are not included in php's DB2 support. I would like to
add this functionality to php, and I am wondering whether PEAR is a proper
place to start such a project.
