I'm having problems getting pear on winxp...
I've installed php using the zip package, and running phpinfo it all seems
fine... i've enabled some pear packages (DB, other...) but my main goal is
to have DB_DataObject running...
Thing is i'm trying to run pear-installer with no luck. I've checked some
recent messages in here about running go-pear but i can't understand how the
whole thing works!! Am i supposed to use go-pear everytime i need a new
package? Or is it supposed to be run once on systems where php does not have
pear yet? And how do i specify this package i want?
The pear.bat script does not work at all... I've put the pear directory in
the include_path, but when running the script the pear.in file asks for a
getOptions() method that does not exist. Also i've tried using pearwin.php
instead of pear.in (no harm trying) but no luck... The command line
arguments just don't go anywhere.
Now is there some manual way to have the packages running? Where can i get
the packages to put them in the pear directory mannualy and add the
extension to php.ini? Will this work? Or do i need something else?
Excuse me for my ignorance, but i really don't understand the whole process
of getting pear packages running...
Thank you in advance,
Ricardo Rocha
