There is a fully featured WYSIWYG js package called htmlArea released under a BSD license
http://www.interactivetools.com/products/htmlarea/
that is very easy to integrate with any form setup, including Quickform. It's as easy as including the following js before your form tag where you'd like the editor to appear.
<script language="JavaScript1.2" defer>
var config = new Object();
editor_generate('nameOfYourTextArea',config);
</script>
And you include the htmlArea js libs in your <head>.
No other customisation necessary, although you pass in a config array if required. Version 3, still in beta, works with Mozilla. Check it out, it's great :-)

MaartenI used the textarea class, which i copied, hid the textarea and show the java (Java, not JavaScript) applet now. The output from the java class is written to the textarea using javascript when the applet is updated, so you can still read out the textarea with php.I have in my boxes a wysiwyg package that allow you to manage IE, mozilla, and NS4 (with plugin and only on windows platforms) DHTML editions, using native APIs of each browsers/platforms. With customs definitions of allowed actions and near everything you can find in commercial products available around. I plan to publish it within the next weeks, I just think where I will put it, as part of OOHForm or inside HTML_Javascript. My preference goes to HTML_JS, that will allow users to use it inside their modules, like QuickForm.hth pierre
