You can have a look at MDB_QueryTool: http://pear.php.net/package-info.php?pacid=167 The API and usage is exactly the same as DB_QueryTool, the only difference being the classname and the DB abstraction layer used. It's not a DB_DataObject clone, but you can give it a try. For examples please look at DB_QueryTool package. I'll roll out a new release of MDB_QT next week or so, with many improvements, some examples and a testsuite. If you want to try it please mail me privately, I'll send you a copy of the new version (feedback is appreciated).
