It is quite clever. First the class checks if a session var is set. If so, this means that the user is authentified, then no connection is needed. If the session var is not found, then it can either open a new connection or use an already open connection depending on what parameter you pass to it. If you pass a dsn, then it connects. If you pass a db object, then it just uses it. And if you use persistent connections, speeds should be better. This just depends on you application. Bertrand Mansion MamasamWhen a connection already exists, and another one is requested php will pick up the already existing connection, and not actually create a new one. That's the story I've been told anyway. One of the developers can probably confirm this.Is it so intelligent ? ;))
