That´s what I feared :-/ Okay, my advice to you is: Do NOT use the Sybase extension! If you´re using FreeTDS, use the MSSQL extension. To do that, you need at least PHP 4.3.0, as this was the first version that was able to compile --with-mssql on Linux. The Sybase extension does NOT provide the full API of the MSSQL extension, nor is it entirely compatible to it. That will most likely be the problem, as the PEAR::DB driver for MSSQL assumes that the "official" MSSQL extension is used. It may be an even better idea to try out a brand-new extension called ODBTP - I haven´t tried it personally yet, but I´ve had some very interesting conversations with the author lately and it seems that this extension has the potential to be the most compatible and best-performing solution out there for connecting to an MSSQL server. It also offers a lot of settings to tweak compatibility, and it offers (like the Sybase extension, but to a greater extend) a namespace emulation for the mssql_* functions that the PEAR::DB driver requires. You can find it here: http://odbtp.sourceforge.net/ Give it a try... no matter what you use in the end, it can only be better than the Sybase extension, trust me ;-) CU Markus
- I looked at ODBTP, but it requiers to install some stuff on the MS-SQL-Server, which in my case won't be possible. - I didn't find php-mssql ?? (plus I use php 4.2.3, on Mandrake 9.0) - I understand that I have to stay with DB 1.3 until I get PHP 4.3 ? thanks Bruno
