You do not need lynx. Get go-pear.php and run it php -q go-pear.php. At least you should have wget: wget http://go-pear.php mv index.html go-pear.php <<== or run php index.html ;) php -q go-pear or even easier (dunno which php version do you have) php -r "include 'http://go-pear.org'" Did you mean "wget http://go-pear.org"? That retrieved index.html.I then renamed index.html to go-pear.php. Then: [root@zack software]# php -q go-pear [root@zack software]# pear install Log downloading http://pear.php.net/get/Log ... ...done: 11,482 bytes Relation 'has' with requirement '' is not supported Dependencies failed Same thing as before. Was the php -q step supposed to print anything? It ran instantaneously. Sorry for being so dense, but php and pear are new to me. (I must say that the "pear install ..." installing from the net is a great idea.) Jack
