Not exactly, but sort of.
At the next LinuxTag on July 10th there is a meeting about the future of
database extensions where one of the big topics is how to make it easier
for users to switch databases etc.
I will be there as a the "PEAR guy" to make sure that we can make use of
the resulting work in PEAR.
The resulting work might result in a drastic reduction in the workload
that PEAR DB would have to do.
