Transactions with DB?

Hi all,
for a few weeks we decide to change our code and use pear-DB. The reason was independence from a RDBMS. We use MySQL and PGSQL for the same application and it runs fine on both. But now we want to add transactions, and all i know about this is, that MySQL doesn't support Transactions on InnoDB-tables. Must i transform my DB or there are other methods possible?
