Afaik you already get a PEAR-installation when you installed php from
the RedHat-packages. But this is rather old. Simply do a:
lynx -source http://go-pear.org/ | php
and accept the defaults. Should work fine and bring you a clean
install of a current PEAR. If any problems arise please feel free to
ask on the list.
