It does need a maintainer. Since the package is marked as stable, there can't be any backwards compatibility breaking changes, but certainly bugfixes and new features can be added to the package. Would you mind submitting some bug reports/feature requests and attaching patches? Once we've seen your work there should be no problem adding you as the package maintainer. -- Brett Bieber
