Hi Pierre-Alain Joye! On 01/21/2005 03:45 AM you wrote:
The initial proposal from Japan was for "Net_Trackback". Of course thats nonsense, since it's not a protocol, but kind of webservice.
In the meantime, where can one get Services_TrackBack?
The version we are using is here: http://www.schlitt.info/misc/Services_Trackback-0.1.0.tgz
Being on the topic, let redifine a rule for the record: "Use PEAR packages only in pearweb when absolutely no solution are available, if no package are available, propose it as a package or implement your needs as a pearweb only thing."
Something like proposals first, then implement it in pearweb, especially for such non critical things.
Sorry for my roceeding in this case, but the idea to release the pure trackback part as a package was born during development of trackbacks for PEARWeb. Therefore, I outsourced the code from PEARWeb into that package. If the package gets rejected, I'll re-import the code to PEARWeb immediatelly.
By the way, can you not post new entries on pear-webmasters but only to the related maintainers?
I don't think that this is a good idea. Some maintainers might not feel responsible for dealing with the trackback stuff. Therefore I'd prefer to keep a copy of notification mails to pear webmaster. If they get too much, we can think of another solution, but in the current start-up-phase I think having them here is the best solution to see, how maintainers deal with trackbacks and if the webmasters have to deal with approval/deletion.
