It seems that you don't have a net connection? Of course, that can't be,
because you were able to install from go-pear. However, it could be that
a firewall is blocking php from accessing the net this time? Don't know
if that helps, but keep us posted.
But it reminds me... I tried to upgrade to PEAR 1.4.0rc12, but it won't
let me, as it says my XML_RPC version is not compatible (in spite of the
fact that I have the latest version installed). Not sure exactly what
the problem is, either, as the deps on the pear site state that you need
XML_RPC 1.2.0 or higher... Forcing the install seemed to work fine.
Haven't noticed any problems yet, but will keep everyone posted.
